Can you believe we are in the thick of the Holiday Season? Where has the year gone? I hope that you are enjoying the most wonderful time of the year! This Christmas season I have been trying to slow down and enjoy friends, family and the Christmas JOY!
With that said, I did go crazy decorating. It is what brings me JOY during this time of year but I started much sooner than I usually do. I think that was the best thing I have ever done! I started the week before Thanksgiving and by the end of Nov. it was basically all done. I am still tweaking a few things but I am now able to just enjoy it and work on other things that need to get done during this time of year. Or just sit by the glowing lights of the tree and read a book! 🙂
Do you decorate just one room or multiple rooms? We enjoy having Christmas sprinkled throughout our house. Last year we put a tree in Mayleigh’s room of some old decorations I had stored in a box from years ago. She loved it. This year, her and I went shopping to add more decor to the room. There is one thing May and I do very well together and that is shopping! She has become my favorite shopping buddy!
Mayleigh was quickly drawn to the bottle brush trees at Hobby Lobby! She has great taste! I adore them too. So we picked out a few things for her nightstand and a colorful pillow! She did a great job helping me shop for her room. Click here for the bottle brush trees.
When Jeff and I first got married we did a Christmas tree in bright colors. Once we had kids I changed and started using traditional red and green decor. I had stored those bright colored ornaments all these years and I new it would make the perfect decor for May’s christmas tree in her room!
The white tree from Walmart compliments the colors so well! It was very inexpensive. I will link it here. May also picked out the bright colored ball garland from Hobby Lobby to add to on the tree!
Since Mayleigh has come home from China 5 years ago, we continue to work on strengthening our bond. I know one thing that is helping…shopping and decorating together!! I love that she enjoys some of the same things I enjoy!
We hope we have inspired you to decorate a kid’s space for Christmas!
Beautiful decorations Erin! I wish you were here to help me with mine. May looks so cute too.
Thanks Aunt Laurie! We had fun decorating it!
